Job Description

A day in the life of a Senior Plan Operations Specialist includes assisting clients with enrollment eligibility, enrollment materials, annual invoices, fielding client questions, and consistently meeting excellent service and productivity standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong operational skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a strong attention to detail.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Develop new technical skills and expand knowledge of our systems and recordkeeping software to find better ways to service our clients and adapt to system changes and upgrades
  • Act as BlueStar’s ambassador to its clients
  • Prepare and review eligibility determinations to ensure accurate and timely identification of newly eligible employees
  • Process and review automatic enrollment to ensure accurate and timely identification of newly eligible employees
  • Process and review source level eligibility to ensure accurate and timely identification of newly eligible employees
  • Update internal systems as needed based on eligibility and automatic enrollment review
  • Prepare and deliver enrollment kits at least 30 days prior to plan entry to eligible participants
  • Prepare mapping notices that accurately reflect mapping instructions and deliver 30 days prior to all eligible participants
  • Prepare annual notices that accurately reflect plan specifications, investments and fees and deliver on an annual basis
  • Print and mail other plan communications as requested by other departments
  • Provide timely notification to plan sponsors of newly eligible participants, source level eligibility, and automatic enrollment
  • Determine participants eligible for forceout, distribute distribution paperwork, and track sponsor approval
  • Determine participants eligible for loan default, distribute distribution paperwork, and track sponsor approval
  • Determine participants eligible for RMDs, distribute distribution paperwork, and track sponsor approval
  • Answers questions posed by Customer Service Representatives related to enrollment kits and other notices
  • Provide technical and testing support for technical platforms
  • Develop new reporting capabilities for internal use and to promote integrations with 3rd parties

Required Skills

  • Ability to utilize office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers throughout the work day
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner both in writing and over the phone
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to complete assignments quickly and accurately
