Job Description

BlueStar is looking for new talent! As a rapidly-growing financial services company, we now need more representatives to help provide excellent service to our clients!

A day in the life of a Participant Service Specialist includes independently handling customer requests from in-bound calls, chat, and emails, verifying and updating participant records, and consistently meeting excellent service and productivity standards.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding customer service skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a strong attention to detail.  A background in financial services is preferred, but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Key areas of responsibility

  • Answer customer service line and address participant inquiries by accessing account data on participant website
  • Be respectful of participant’s time by acting with a sense of urgency when providing participants answers and information
  • Manage incoming requests using our ticketing and chat system and provide accurate and timely responses to participant questions
  • Maintain personal account security by following BlueStar security procedures prior to providing any account detail
  • Utilize all resources to ensure that the answers provided to participants are accurate and timely
  • Consult with participants regarding distribution and loan requests, loan payoffs, incoming rollovers, enrollments, fund transfers, and contribution changes;
  • Initiate participant transaction requests by entering request on participant website
  • Review all participant transaction requests for accuracy and completeness; follow up with participant as necessary

Required Skills

  • Ability to utilize office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers throughout the workday
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner both in writing and over the phone
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to manage data and process financial transactions with a high degree of accuracy
