Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opening for a Total Rewards Specialist at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
 
The position serves as a member of the headquarters-based HR Support team that administers Compensation and Benefits plans and programs to meet the Air Products organizational goals to attract, motivate and retain employees.  This position is responsible for analysis, administration and legal compliance for North America retirement programs such as defined contribution (401(k)), defined benefit, and deferred compensation plans. 
 
The incumbent in this position will work closely with members of the Total Rewards Community of Expertise as well as with Corporate Finance, Tax, Treasury, the Human Resources Services Center, and third-party service providers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Partner with third-party service providers to oversee the administration of the defined contribution (401(k)), defined benefit, and deferred compensation plans including but not limited to timely reconciliation and auditing of payroll files and wires, monitoring participant data and error reports, and updating of paycheck records.  Work with Finance on reporting and analysis.
  • Participate in status calls with third party administrators to monitor retirement plans and ensure administration compliance.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with government regulations and company requirements by performing required testing, analyzing results, and submitting reports on pension, 401(k) and other programs.
  • Work with outside service providers to administer pension plans and resolve issues as needed.
  • Support implementation projects related to the retirement plans or internal initiatives, such as plan design, fund changes, payroll, etc.

 Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree (HR, Accounting, Finance, or Business degree preferred).
  • Three to five years’ experience the daily administration of retirement plans. Basic knowledge of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code and applicable Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service regulations related to retirement plans required.
  • Experience with Workday a plus.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft applications such as Access, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment across a variety of departments.
  • Strong research and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple complex situations.
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and interpersonal.
  • Aptitude for problem solving and the ability to think outside the box.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and strong attention to detail and documentation.
  • Strong interest in building expertise in compensation and benefits and desire to learn and grow in the position
