We are a fiduciary and retirement plan administration company, serving primarily medium to large sized employers. We work with business owners and their advisors to design, implement, and administer both DB and DC plans.

Our Plan Administrators are fiduciaries to a designated block of plans. The right candidate will have five + years of A-Z TPA experience; a strong excel user (e.g. vlookup, pivot tables, formulas, etc.) and experience on different recordkeeping platforms such as TDARP, Nationwide, Bluestar, OARS, etc. Experience with PensionPro software would be a plus.

This is a full-time (in office) position with competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, employer sponsored 401k plan, paid time off and paid holidays.

Candidates must be greater Nashville area residents or be in the process of relocating to the Nashville area. A relocation package is not available for this position. No Recruiters please.

Summary/Objective:

The Plan Administrator functions as the responsible plan fiduciary to ensure plans maintain both written and operational compliance with all ERISA, IRS, DOL regulations and best practices at all times. This role facilitates the process of new adopters joining the plan (as well as mergers of existing plans) and also makes recommendations regarding plan design and benefit improvements.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates efforts with all service providers to ensure plan administration is in compliance with plan provisions, regulations and best practices.
  • Works in coordination with service providers to facilitate both the addition of new adopters and/or plan mergers due to acquisition.
  • Recognize plan failures; provides additional training to the client administration team in an effort to prevent repeat failures and implements the steps necessary to bring plan back into compliance (e.g. VCP, SCP, EPCRS, etc.).
  • Comprehensive review of current plan design; proposes design changes, if needed, to meet client goals. Conducts annual training with the client administration team to ensure their understanding of the plan provisions (e.g. compensation, eligibility, etc.) in an effort to ensure compliant day to day operations
  • Responsible for the collection of required documentation to support QDRO, hardship and disability claims; as well as making final determination to approve or deny request.
  • Function as the responsible plan fiduciary over all rollovers, distributions and loans on behalf of the Sponsor; including monitoring the timely distribution of all required minimum distributions each year. 
  • Monitors the performance of the plan service providers and conducts periodic requests for proposals to prepare annual fee assessments.
  • Review annual nondiscrimination testing to verify the accuracy of the test; and monitor that corrective actions are completed accurately and timely including the filing of any additional tax forms that may be necessary.
  • Monitors the timely completion of the annual census data and employer questionnaire to facilitate timely nondiscrimination testing.
  • Monitor and document the preparation, accuracy and timely distribution of all employee communications and notices throughout the year.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Excel, Outlook, Adobe, Web navigation, Join.Me/Webex
  • PensionPro experience
  • Responds to client correspondence/issues in a timely fashion

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is an in-office position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Credentialed member of ASPPA preferred
  • 5-7 years of direct TPA experience
  • Experience on different recordkeeping platforms such as TDARP, Nationwide, Bluestar, OARS, etc.
