Assistant Administrative Manager

Related Taft-Hartley health and defined contribution retirement funds are seeking an Assistant Administrative Manager to support the Fund Office and Administrative Manager.  The plans serve members in the Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan region, and are based in Rossford, Ohio, five minutes from downtown Toledo.

The Assistant Administrative Manager is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of assigned staff and processes, as delegated by the Administrative Manager.  He or she is also responsible for assisting the Administrative Manager in formulating and administering policy, long-range goals, and strategic planning initiatives.

Specific duties include:

  • In conference with the Administrative Manager, determining the appropriate methods and procedures to carry out the Fund's operational functions to include claims, eligibility, billing, and customer service;
  • Maintaining the human resource function necessary for payroll and time off records, policies and procedures, performance appraisals, and personnel files;
  • Assisting with the preparation and analysis of financial and operating statements and budgets;
  • Maintaining relationships with outside vendors;
  • Overseeing systems necessary to generate enrollment forms, participant communications, and retiree packets and applications;
  • Administering and maintaining compliance with government subsidy programs;
  • Producing newsletter articles; and
  • Coordinating special events, conferences and seminars.

The Assistant Administrative Manager may also attend Board meetings and will prepare reports for the meetings.

Requirements:

The Assistant Administrative Manager must have significant professional experience in human resources, operations, or finance.  Experience managing subordinate staff is required.  A successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or a related field, and/or a CEBS designation, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience with employee benefit trust funds, or the health care or insurance industry.

A full benefits and compensation package is offered, with compensation being negotiable and commensurate with experience.
