This position is located in the Office of the General Counsel
(OGC), General Law & Procurement Division (GLPD), at the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC).
More than one selection may be made from this vacancy announcement.
- Provide legal counsel related to
all issues arising from the planning, solicitation, negotiation, award, and administration of contracts for PBGC.
- Be part of a team that represents PBGC in contract-related litigation before the Government Accountability Office, Civilian Board of
Contract Appeals, and other forums.
- Provide counsel on fiscal and budget issues, interagency agreements, and other general agency matters related to contracts or appropriations.
- Additional duties include the determination and development of
agency policy, drafting of contract terms and clauses, as well as the production of superior written and oral advice on procurement, fiscal, and general law matters.

You may start at $117,191.00 if you meet
the following minimum qualification requirements in addition to the education requirement:
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as at least one year of experience at the GS-13 grade
level in the Federal service or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the private sector with experience in the areas of procurement and fiscal law.
Examples of specialized experience may include: rendering legal
counsel, interpretation, and services for program matters of the corporation; conduct litigation in complex and significant cases; and/or directs special projects.
Confident and outgoing attorneys will excel in this position. The
General Law and Procurement Group is a small, highly collaborative team. Frequent face-to-face training and interaction with clients and colleagues will be required, as well as the ability to engage and consult entities outside the agency, such as the
Office of Management and Budget.
In order to qualify for this position, you must possess:
A J.D. degree from a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA).
In addition to the
education requirement, you must currently be a member in good standing of the bar of a State, a Territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
