CBIZ Retirement Plan Services (CBIZ RPS) is the largest Investment Advisor in the Cleveland, OH area and provides institutional consulting solutions to corporations, public entities, and non-profit organizations.  We primarily consult with companies on their 401(k), 403(b), or defined benefit pension plans, specializing in investment management, investment consulting, as well as compliance and design.  In total, CBIZ RPS consults on approximately $13 billion in assets, and our clients range from large multinational publicly-traded companies to small businesses.

CBIZ is looking for passionate leader with strong Defined Contribution knowledge who has a desire to provide outstanding service to our clients, lead and develop our staff.  As a technical leader you will be responsible for hands on client work as well as leadership functions.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Lead, coach and grow employees that provide administration and consulting to Defined Contribution Plans
  • Assist in the development and documentation of processes to enhance efficiencies
  • Mentor employees through their career path, providing
  • Oversee and drive workflow
  • Maintain relationships and consult with Clients to manage the completion of annual plan administration, special projects and other services
  • Attend and lead client meetings
  • Review, interpret and advise on Plan Documents, Amendments, Notices and Summary Plan Descriptions
  • Consulting on issues related to IRS and ERISA compliance
  • Ensure profitability of book of business
  • Provide a quality review of staff work
  • Assist with functions relating to the administration of qualified defined contribution plans
  • Provide administration for complex plans
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience within the retirement plan industry
  • 3-5 years retirement plan administration experience with emphasis in the 401(k) and 403(b) compliance environment
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations and correction programs, retirement plan compliance testing rules, regulatory changes, plan documents, trust accounting and Form 5500 filings
  • Positive and professional attitude, client focused and proactive
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and time management skills
  • ASPPA designations or pursuit of professional designations in process
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Knowledge of ASC Administration software and FT William software is a plus

Qualifications Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Over 6 years’ experience in area of expertise with increasing complexity
  • At least 4 years’ experience supervising and leading staff 
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Demonstrate  industry experience and technical knowledge in area of expertise
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Expert knowledge of state and federal legislation and regulations impacting discipline
  • Expertise in managing clients 
  • Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills
