Defined Contribution Junior Administrator

Our clients rely on our well-versed expertise to reach their unique business and retirement objectives. Our firm has provided Third-Party Administration for qualified retirement plans including 401(k), 403(b), Profit Sharing and Defined Benefit Pension Plans for over 20 years.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Working alongside senior administrators, actuary and operation’s staff assisting with compliance administration and consulting. Utilizing the ASC valuation system to produce annual reports as well as develop strong partnerships with clients to effectively anticipate and respond to their needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge and experience with ASC software is a must
  • Maintaining positive relationships with plan sponsors, financial professionals and staff
  • Assist with annual testing to ensure plan meets nondiscrimination and coverage regulations provided by the IRS and DOL.
  • Assist in preparing required governmental filings for assigned qualified plans.
  • Assist in reconciling plans while preparing information provided by plan sponsors for annual plan valuations. Notify client of any balancing issues, any required contributions and maximum deductible contribution amounts.
  • Review plans to ensure provisions of plan document are appropriately applied both at plan and participant level.
  • Requests information necessary to provide plan valuation, annual testing and prepares government forms prior to the end of the plan year. Applies required follow-up procedures to obtain necessary information.
  • Proactively notifies plan sponsor and/or agent(s) of impending issues.
  • Notifies plan sponsor of necessary Required Minimum Distributions and follows up to assist the appropriate handling of these transactions.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. 
  • Demonstrates employer-sponsored retirement plan knowledge in Defined Contributions 
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to successfully interpret and communicate business needs to both external clients and internal staff in a clear and concise manner. 
  • Proven analytical skills, including demonstrate experience identifying and quantifying problems and providing effective resolutions.
  • Proven experience handling and effectively resolving customer problems. 

Educational Requirement:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience showing increasing levels of responsibility
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in employer-sponsored qualified plans

Computer Skills and Software Required:

  • Must be proficient with Windows-based operating systems and the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Knowledge of ASC and Quickbooks

Work Location:

  • Corporate office located in Orange County, California
