Conversion/Transition Specialist

Acuff & Associates, one of the largest regional consulting firms offering both Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit administration and consulting has an opening for a Conversion or Transition Specialist in the Defined Contribution practice.

The job requirements are:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Defined Contribution administration or consulting.
  • Full understanding and command of ERISA/compliance required for DC Plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors and staff.
  • Analytical and problem solving mindset.
  • Self-driven, positive manner with a passion for results and a clear focus on high quality.
  • Team-oriented personality with the ability to also work independently.
  • Strong time management, problem solving, attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience using Relius Plan Administration/Plan Documents and FT William Forms 5500, PensionPro Workflow Management (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Credentialed by NIPA or ASPPA (or progression toward).

The job duties include:

  • Coordinate new plan conversion through implementation and first year’s administration.
  • Coordinate set up of plan information in all internal systems and gathering of needed documentation from client and vendors.
  • Identify and resolve potential conversion issues in collaboration with the sales, client and vendors.
  • Add retirement plans to the recordkeeping system in accordance with the plan document specifications.
  • Reconcile and load conversion data from prior service providers.
  • Review distributions/loans as prepared by the distribution team and coordinate between the client and the vendor if necessary.
  • Coordinate with Defined Benefit team on combination plan clients.
  • Manage assigned projects and compliance testing by internal and regulatory deadlines.
  • Manage all communications with the client concerning the plan. Deliver reports and testing. Answer day to day questions concerning the administration of the plan.
