Pension Actuary/Actuarial Analyst

Job Summary

Employee benefits brokerage firm seeking qualified actuarial consultant with expertise in pension plan valuation, administration and regulation. The analyst will be responsible for evaluating the funding options for pension plans, performing cost/benefit analysis, projecting cash flows/liabilities and implementing de-risking solutions. Analyst will support and manage a variety of projects.  Candidate will also work closely with internal and external contacts.  Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform cost benefit analysis
  • Projecting cash flows/liabilities
  • Implementing derisking solutions
  • Sales support/project management
  • Liability settlements, monitoring analysis
  • Interpret plan documents 
  • Occasional travel required
  • Detail oriented
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skill set
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Underwriting/insurance experience a plus

Qualifications and Skills

  • BS/BA required – Actuarial Science, Mathematics or other financial or analytical curriculum a plus- economics, finance, statistics and actuarial accreditations and/or professional certifications preferred 
  • Minimum of 5 years in actuarial field or pension retirement plan consulting experience in sales, customer service, marketing or account management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to work well both independently and in group setting
