Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Maintain relationships and consult with assigned Clients to manage the completion of annual plan administration or special projects as defined in scope of services
  • Work closely with Plan Sponsors, Recordkeepers, Financial Institutions and Auditors to deliver practical solutions to help Clients maintain their qualified plans
  • Review, interpret and advise on Plan Documents, Amendments, Notices and Summary

Plan Descriptions

  • Consulting on issues related to IRS and ERISA compliance
  • Complete all aspects of Annual Plan Administration including:
  • Employee data reconciliation
  • Contribution / allocation  calculations, including Match, Safe Harbor, Top Heavy, Profit Sharing and New Comparability
  • ADP / ACP, Coverage, Top Heavy, Non-discrimination and other Compliance Testing, including corrections of ADP / ACP Testing and Projected Testing
  • Trust Accounting reconciliation and preparation of statements
  • Governmental Filings such as Forms 5500 Series, 8955-SSA, 5330
  • Audit Support for Large Plans
  • Calculation of Corrective Contributions and Distributions
  • Preparation of distributions and loans
  • Maintain documentation of Client communications
  • Assist with other functions relating to the administration of qualified defined contribution plans
  • Maintain systems proficiency to enhance Client services delivery

Qualifications Required

  • 3-5 years retirement plan administration experience, with emphasis in the 401(k) / PS
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations and correction programs, retirement plan compliance testing rules, regulatory changes, plan documents, trust accounting and Form 5500 filings
  • Positive and professional attitude, client-focused and proactive
  • Organization and time management skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including experience identifying problems and providing effective resolutions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Commitment to accuracy of work product and client deliverables
  • ASPPA designations or pursuit of professional designations in process (QKA, QPA, CPC)
  • Knowledge of ASC administration/compliance and 5500 software is a plus
  • Experience with Relius plan document software is a plus
