Under the direction of the
Manager of Retirement Benefits, the Senior Retirement Benefits Analyst administers the day-to-day aspects of the retirement plan sponsored by AMERCO, with the primary responsibility for the 401(k) plan and ESOP to remain compliant per ERISA and IRS
This is a unique career opportunity because all recordkeeping, accounting and financial reporting are handled in-house.
Perform balancing and reconciliation of record keeping
systems and trust statements.
Use Excel skills to validate large data sets with vlookup and other formulas to conduct research and analyses.
Use Excel VBA to automate processes.
Prepare tax information letters and other required
documents to Plan Participants as required by law or policy.
Prepare tax forms, such as Form 5500 and related schedules.
Perform annual compliance testing including ADP / ACP, 401(a)(4), 410(b), Top Heavy, 402(g), 415, ESOP Allocation,
Conduct legal research for IRS, DOL and Retirement Benefits related subjects.
Perform cross functional tasks in a highly dynamic environment.
Provide manual entry, analyses, calculations and reports for
Answer participant questions relative to retirement programs.
Effectively administer assigned programs, perform both complex and routine administrative works with speed and accuracy.
Review work completed by other
analysts for accuracy, completeness and quality.
Advanced experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access)
Proficient in Excel VBA
Knowledge of Balance Forward valuations and experience
with plan conversions.
5 - 10 years of work experience in Retirement Benefits
Finance, mathematic or business related bachelor’s degree
Attention to detail and superior organization skills
Must have excellent written
and oral communication skills
Travel Required: May be up to 1-2 weeks out of the year, in the United States and/or Canada
Can-do attitude, able to endure stress and meet strict deadlines
Certification of QKA, QPA, CPC and/or CEBS
Proficient in SQL and Workday
Experience in filing Form 5500 in a self-administrated Retirement Benefit work environment
