Job Description

General Information

Ipswich Bay Advisors is a fast-growing human resources and investment management firm looking to hire a full-time 401(k) Sales Manager to coordinate sales and services for our 401(k) department.  This new associate will be provided with a book of business and is expected to manage and grow that business through cross selling and other sales promotions that they may develop.   Compensation will be in direct recognition of the size of the book of business sold and managed. 

We are looking for a high energy, experienced advisor who is goal oriented and has a desire to grow with our organization.   This is an exceptional opportunity for the right advisor to take a leadership role for our retirement plan business and represent our organization in that capacity.  In addition to exceptional attention to detail, this position requires:

Position Details

The 401(k) Sales Manager is entrusted with a book of business of employer defined contribution plans.  This position is charged with building and growing our 401(k) book of business in a sales role.  This position will also serve as the primary contact for the client and work in a team structure which is collectively responsible for managing, educating, resolving client issues, building relationships and meeting the needs of Plan Sponsors.  Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Developing a pipeline of new business through strategic partners and networking opportunities. 
  • Consistently providing a high level of consultative customer service while communicating and coordinating with our 401(k) clients and partners to address all client service issues and provide necessary research, problem solving and resolution support.
  • Successfully monitor and follow-up on assigned items; includes determining appropriate action for resolution of client issues, documenting and implementing solutions as appropriate.
  • Consult with clients about the regulatory environment and how it impacts the client's plan or benefits.
  • Assist Plan Sponsors with plan corrections, resolving operational defects, website navigation, providing plan and participant literature, and contribution inquiries.
  • Assist with other projects as necessary.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.  Series 7 securities license preferred or required within 6 months of employment.
  • 3 or more years’ experience in sales and customer service within the securities industry required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. The ability to communicate effectively (clear, concise and professionally) with all levels within the organization, as well as with our client base.
  • Excellent presentation skills, telephone etiquette and professionalism, client service skills and time management proficiency.
  • Computer literacy with recordkeeping systems and trust systems; and experience with plan recordkeeping and trust reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in MSOffice software applications, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills with strong math ability.
  • Strong knowledge of retirement plans, ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to ensure common goal of providing exceptional customer service
