Our Opportunity:

Schwab Retirement Technologies (SRT) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Charles Schwab Corporation and is a division of Retirement Business Services (RBS).   SRT is engaged in developing and licensing proprietary retirement plan recordkeeping software to independent recordkeeping organizations.  These organizations, in turn, provide retirement plan services to the plan sponsors whom they serve.  SRT also provides consulting and training, software support and technical services, and value added alliances.   

As a member of the SRT client service team, you will provide product support and business consulting services to Independent Recordkeepers utilizing the Schwab RT product suite. Primary responsibilities include managing inbound client inquiries, assisting clients with creating software and process efficiencies, client training, relationship management activities and sales support.  

What you’ll do:

  • Help deliver superior service to the Schwab RT client community
  • Build strong relationships with our customers and offer valuable insight to their teams to ensure they are current on Schwab RT solutions and have high product/function adoption to achieve processing efficiencies. 
  • Proven ability to apply knowledge from employee benefits, and software applications to define solutions and recommendations to solve complex customer issues
  • Identify and  define the business and software problem clients are trying to solve, create structure by developing a work plan, facilitate the definition of the future state process/capability, obtain SRT or client executive leadership input, then coordinate with client to ensure successful implementation of defined solution
  • Work cross-functionally with peers to improve processes, identify best practices and better utilize resources
  • Prepare and deliver detailed training and consulting presentations.  
  • Frequently contributes to the enhancement of tools and resources and demonstrates expertise in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to solve complex customer issues
  • Provide business direction on the implementation of new technology/software for clients
  • Assist in sales cycle, including presentation of demos, contract work, RFP and RFI document completion 

What you have:

  • 8- 10 years of experience providing recordkeeping or trust/custody services strongly preferred; previous consulting experience (job grade 58)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience providing recordkeeping or trust/custody services strongly preferred (job grade 57)
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory environment and associated rules governing qualified retirement plans, including ERISA; non-qualified plans; and other employee benefits plans 
  • A preference for professional certifications or designations such as American Society of Plan Administrators (ASPA) or other employee benefits designations
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Excellent working knowledge of software applications Word, Excel, trading or trust accounting systems, and recordkeeping software is required, preference for Schwab RT application experience
  • Skilled at operating at both strategic and tactical levels, including proven experience managing implementation of projects with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create structure and organization from ambiguous assignments
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly synthesize data, develop recommendations, create presentations and present to management
