DB & DC Plan Administrator

Mann Associates is a boutique retirement plan consulting firm (Third-Party Administrator) seeking an experienced Defined Benefit Plan Administrator. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in qualified retirement plan administration, specifically in the area of Defined Benefit Plans.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Preparation and peer review of annual actuarial valuations of defined benefit and cash balance plans
  • Preparation and peer review, as needed, of allocations for defined contribution plans
  • Perform nondiscrimination and top-heavy testing
  • Calculation of retirement benefits and optional forms for benefit distribution packages
  • Preparation of form 5500 and appropriate schedules
  • Draft and prepare Annual Funding Notices and Summary Annual Reports
  • Preparation of PBGC Annual Premium filings
  • Formulation of new plan design to meet client objectives
  • Process plan terminations both PBGC and non-PBGC covered plans
  • Preparation of plan documents
  • Education of experienced Defined Contribution administrators on Defined Benefit administration
  • Daily and ongoing communication with clients, accountants and advisors
  • Reconciliation of plan assets
  • Calculate contributions and income for unincorporated businesses

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or commensurate work experience. Background in mathematics, Actuarial Science or finance a plus.
  • 3-5 years post education pension actuarial experience
  • Experience completing all required testing including: 415 limits, 416(c) Top Heavy, 410(b) Coverage, 414(s), 401(a)(26) participation, and 401(a)(4) Nondiscrimination Testing
  • Familiarity with cash balance and traditional defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans comparability allocations, DB-DC Combo
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Experience using Datair administration software a plus
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, IRS, DOL and PBGC Laws and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task
  • Experience with non-qualified, 457(b) and 457(f) plans
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Completion of Enrolled Actuary exams preferred, but not required
  • QKA, QPA, ASPPA designations a plus
