The Pension Analyst provides annual plan administration services support to employers who sponsor qualified retirement plans, within performance standards and service objectives. Including developing in-depth understanding of the complexities of all facets of administering qualified retirement plans. This position(s) are available in Missouri – St. Louis and Illinois – Edwardsville.

Position Overview

Provide support on annual plan administration services and support to employers who sponsor qualified retirement plans, within performance standards and service objectives. Position prepares financial, regulatory, and operational reporting for qualified retirement plans including: but not limited to census data, trust accounting, compliance testing, 5500 preparation, and preparation of distribution/loan forms.  In addition, may calculate employer contributions and forfeiture allocations. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Possess or can acquire experience in annual administration of qualified DC / 401(k) plans and vendor systems.
  • Excellent analytical, research and problem solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting and both trust and payroll
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communications, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, under pressure, meet deadlines, handle large volume of diverse work
  • High level of PC skills; advanced knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing applications, vendor systems and record keeping systems.

  • Ability to work independently

Preferred Experience

  • 1-2 years experience in annual administration of qualified DC / 401(k) plans
  • Degree in Business or 2 or 4 years of Financial discipline
