The Plan Administrator is responsible for daily plan administration, including eligibility, contribution allocations, testing and reporting, and benefit payments for retirement plans. The Plan
Administrator builds client relationships by constant interaction with and assisting plan sponsors and participants.
The Plan Administrator will manage the administration of client retirement plans accurately and on time, including, but not
limited to regular annual, quarterly or weekly administration, preparation of required IRS forms and returns, non-discrimination testing, extension filing and participant statements.
The Plan Administrator will be responsible for supervising the
daily functions of Plan Recordkeepers. This would include scheduling and supervising work, performing higher level review of work performed, responding to inquiries and providing guidance.
Performs trust accounting for retirement and/or welfare plans.
Administers plan eligibility, allocations, non-discrimination
testing, reporting, and loans.
Reconciles client accounts as required.
Processes and allocates participant and employer contributions in accordance with participant or employer instructions.
participant benefit payments.
Prepares and distributes Form 5500, 1099s, and other government reports.
Answers telephone and responds to client and participant questions & requests.
Has knowledge of benefit laws and
understands how they will interact with plan provisions and client needs.
Understands and can interpret plan documents and summary plan descriptions.
Demonstrates proficiency with retirement plan administration software, related software
and recordkeeping platforms.
Resolves annual administrative issues, answers clients’ questions with regard to ongoing plan administration, testing and preparation of Form 5500.
Interacts with and assists plan sponsors and
participants. Builds relationships with clients and interacts with integrity and honesty and promotes JCCS and EB.
Works to gain an increasing knowledge of specific government regulations and a higher level of familiarity with various investment
Attends training and keeps up to date with industry, state and federal changes.
Answers telephone, directs calls, and may greet clients coming into the branch.
Performs other duties, responsibilities and activities
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or Associate’s with equivalent professional experience.
1-2 years’ experience with plan
administration, or a combination of experience and education.
Datair Administration and FT William Government Forms software.
Industry specific seminar classes and/or in the process of obtaining applicable designations or certifications
such as QKA, CRPS, or CEBS.
Skills for Success:
Proficient in computer systems, word processing software and data entry, office accounting systems, and 10-key calculators.
Attention to detail, and good
Provides excellent and timely customer service and builds relationships by interacting and assisting with plan sponsors and participants.
Actively maintains applicable continuing education for professional development
and attains additional credentials/certifications in specialized area.
