Our Houston office has an opportunity for an experienced junior to
mid-level benefits associate to assume a significant role in our expanding employee benefits/ERISA practice. Our practice is broad-based and encompasses compliance work with retirement, health and welfare, and nonqualified and incentive pay plans
maintained by private sector, governmental, and tax-exempt employers. We also regularly advise on executive compensation and payroll tax, and healthcare privacy matters. The successful candidate can expect to have exposure to all of these

Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in Texas. Candidates who are eligible for admission to the Texas bar on motion or who are admitted
to practice in another state and are prepared to sit for the Texas bar examination within one year of hire will also be considered. During employment, the candidate must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice.
Two to five years
of demonstrated transactional or compliance experience in the general tax or employee benefits / ERISA fields at a nationally recognized law firm, accounting or consulting firm, or government agency.
Broad-based experience with qualified and
non-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and executive compensation matters is preferred but not required.
Candidates must have an outstanding academic record (top 25% of law school class) from an ABA-accredited law
Strong written, interpersonal and communication skills, are required. Candidates should be able to work in a team, but also handle significant individual responsibilities.
