Job Description:

This position is responsible for overseeing the workflow of assigned Defined Contribution - 401(k) retirement plans; communicating with clients; preparation of 5500 and ERISA reports and conducting compliance testing for plans assigned; maintaining proficiency in regulatory developments.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with clients and financial advisors.
  • Maintain proficiency in regulatory requirements.
  • Review of annual reports.
  • Conduct and analyze discrimination testing.
  • Responsible for year-end allocations (including New Comparability calculations)
  • Prepare annual 5500 with related forms and reports and assure timely filing.
  • Review new plan setup.
  • Assure that plans assigned remain in compliance with current rules and regulations.
  • Review transaction rejects.
  • Assist with census problems.
  • Assist in conducting Plan audits when necessary.
  • As an integral member of the organization, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the department and the Company in achieving their goals.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion

Basic Qualifications:

Education / Training:

  • B.S. Degree in Business or related field
  • ASPPA designations such as QKA, QPA, or CPC are preferred, or commitment to obtain the designation.
  • Bilingual English to Spanish is preferred.

Competencies:

  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient mathematics skills
  • Relate to co-workers and customers with respect, providing clear and detailed information
  • Display an intermediate level competency with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as personal computer skills

Experience:

  • Minimum three years of experience in Retirement Plan Administration and Retirement Industry.
