Compliance Analyst

Job Summary:   Performs annual non-discrimination testing and prepares annual government filings.  Ensures timely and accurate completion of all assigned projects.  Interacts with internal staff and clients regarding all compliance related issues. 

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of annual non-discrimination tests (i.e., ADP/ACP, 415, 402(g), 416, 410(b) coverage tests) for assigned group of clients.
  • Research and respond to questions from the internal staff and clients regarding the compliance testing process
  • Process corrective distributions pursuant to compliance test failures and employees who exceed plan or IRS limits
  • Works effectively with Defined Contribution Services to resolve any testing related discrepancies
  • Assist with the preparation of all single Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Annual IRS Forms for assigned group of clients to ensure timely and accurate completion
  • Ability to research questions from the internal staff and clients regarding the trust reporting and 5500 schedules
  • Prepare annual audit reports for assigned clients that are technically accurate and easy to read and understand
  • Ability to respond to changes in procedures pursuant to changes in federal regulations.
  • Ability to interpret various plan documents (i.e., prototype, Individually Designed Prototype)
  • Read and interpret financial trust accounting statements
  • Prepare new comparability illustrations and other employer contribution calculations

Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of experience in non-discrimination testing and regulatory reporting for retirement qualified plans
  • BA / BS degree in Accounting, Finance or business related field preferred; or the equivalent in education and work experience
  • Ability to write an effective and professional letter/email that is grammatically and technically correct and easy to understand
  • Present general technical issues orally in terms that clients or coworkers could understand
  • Demonstrate a professional tone in all communications.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in excel, word and outlook
  • Previous Relius system experience is a plus
