Regional Sales Director - Fringe Benefit Group / The American Worker

Fringe Benefit Group and the American Worker originated the offerings of Limited medical plans and coverage for hourly workers.  We specialize in the hourly employee benefit markets and have worked with large national retail, restaurant, grocery, staffing, convenience store and hospitality companies for the past 25 years.  Through The American Worker, we offer Indemnity plans, major medical, dental, vision and life as well as a large portfolio of other ancillary products designed specifically for these marketplaces.

The ideal candidate will be a proven Employee Benefit and/or Voluntary Worksite plan producer with direct sales experience, with wholesaling background as a plus. This job will require the day-to-day drive of direct-sales with the collaborative sales process found in a wholesaling position. Experience and familiarity with current trends in healthcare reform and plan designs are crucial to the success of this position. Ability to manage multi-state territories and drive sales through multiple channels is critical. This would include wholesale sales leadership and broker and distribution channel development. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Position requires a results-oriented, decisive leader with proven success in new plan or benefit sales growth, and the proven ability to thrive in a dynamic and fluid environment while remaining pragmatic and focused on day-to-day results.

  • Responsible for sales of employee benefit plans to unique vertical markets, selling to CEO’s, CFO’s and HR directors
  • Responsible for intermediary sales of retirement and health plans to brokers/agents, financial advisors, and trade associations
  • Manage and grow sales and marketing efforts and revenue growth in a specific territory
  • Build relationships with brokers / agents, trade associations
  • Conduct sales seminars with partners into vertical market
  • Existing relationships in specific territories is a plus
  • Travel to work to develop sales, client relationships and distribution channels

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Successful broker channel and/or business to business sales experience (professional services preferred) including experience selling to executive / senior level employees
  • Ability to learn, understand Fringe Benefit Group’s business and apply our value proposition
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Extensive communications skills (written, verbal and presentation skills)
  • Very strong organization and time management capabilities
  • Ability to engage in client-focused critical thinking

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Five or more years of relevant sales experience and/or industry experience required
  • Required to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses, as required by Fringe Benefit Group policies and State/local regulations
