Primarily, the paralegal will support a small group of attorneys in ensuring that documents of employee benefit plans and tax-exempt organizations comply with federal and state regulations and the latest legal developments. This work will
include reviewing qualified domestic relations orders and medical support orders; maintaining rules, procedures, and records for plans and organizations; and preparing submissions to regulatory bodies regarding compliance with applicable laws.
Paralegal will also provide back-up support to the firm’s litigation practice. This work may include assisting with the preparation and filing of court documents; cite and fact checking; conforming citations to rules; proofreading; assembling
exhibits, appendices, and case files; generating tables of contents and authorities; preparing for depositions; and managing deadlines and calendars.
Candidates must possess an undergraduate degree with an excellent academic record; strong
analytical, writing, organizational, time management, and communications skills; and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. This position also requires willingness to work overtime as need, the ability to handle multiple priorities, and work with
minimal supervision. Familiarity with Westlaw, PACER, and online research and prior experience as an employee benefits specialist or paralegal is desired, but not required. Spanish-speaking candidate is highly desired, but not required.
