EXPERIENCE & GENERAL JOB
High school diploma (Associate’s degree preferred). 3+ years’ experience in a TPA or a Taft-Hartley multi-employer plan environment preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong work ethic and team player who will take initiative. Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer service. Excellent organizational skills with ability to work calmly while handling multiple priorities. Ability to read and analyze
general business materials, technical procedures, benefit plans and regulations. Strong research and analytical abilities. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Strong mathematical skills. Bilingual English /
Spanish preferred but not required.
The most significant responsibilities of this job classification are:
Determine benefit eligibility and process retirement and death benefit
Research / locate participants and beneficiaries for benefit distributions.
Research and resolve outstanding check distributions, recover overpayments, and reconcile records.
Initiate and prepare correspondence to
participants, and beneficiaries regarding general account information, monthly retirement benefits and individual account balances, etc.
Respond to inquiries from participants, beneficiaries, union representatives and trustees regarding pension
benefits, both in written and verbal form.
Enter, update and correct member data in database.
Prepare, balance and run benefit checks.
Other responsibilities may be assigned by Management based on the individual’s
