Health Savings Account (HSA) Specialist

Who you are:

  • An entrepreneurial minded self-starter with expertise in Employee Benefits and Consumer Driven Health Plans (CDHP).
  • Deep knowledge of current Health Savings Account (HSA) regulations and competitive landscape.
  • Knowledge in the area of Defined Contribution Retirement Plans.

Position Summary:

  • The HSA Specialist works with internal stakeholders to grow the adoption of the Health Savings Account product to current and prospective BPAS clients. 
  • Will work strategically to promote internal referral networks throughout BPAS and its parent Company, Community Bank System, Inc.
  • Follow up on internal leads through the sales and on boarding processes.
  • Provide participant education in the area of Health Savings Accounts.
  • Continuously monitor competitive offerings and industry trends.
  • Effectively recommend enhancements to BPAS HSA Product.
  • Provide strategic education to clients and overcome objections to adopting the HSA product.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of Employee Benefit experience which could be achieved through any of the following: insurance agency or carrier experience, or HR Benefits role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills, including experience presenting in front of groups.

Nice to have:

  • 7+ years of Employee Benefit experience with a focus on Consumer Driven Health Plans (CDHP), and Health Savings Accounts.
  • Prior inside sales experience.
  • Prior Defined Contribution Retirement Plan Experience.
  • Professional ASPPA Certifications: CEBS, HIA (Health Insurance Associate), GBA (Group Benefit Associate), QKA (Qualified 401(k) Administrator), QPA (Qualified Pension Administrator).
  • FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses.
