Retirement Plan Services - Trust Relationship Manager

This position manages and develops new business for large and complex retirement plan relationships in the Tampa and surrounding markets.

Summary of Duties / Responsibilities

  • Keeps current with all developments, applicable laws and regulations within ERISA and non-ERISA plans and provides advice to more junior administrators, investment officers and/or business development officers as necessary
  • Represents bank on boards or committees related to businesses or institutions for which the trust department provides a service
  • Manages retirement plans in accordance with the terms of the governing documents and in a manner consistent with the needs of the plan sponsor, participants and beneficiaries
  • Coordinates management of accounts with investment officers, trust tax officers, trust real estate officers, Trust Operations, and others as required
  • Assures the accounts are in compliance with Bank/Trust Department policies, procedures and any applicable federal/state laws and regulations
  • Contacts or corresponds with attorneys, agencies, co- trustees/co-executors, and other parties who have an interest in any aspect of an account
  • Resolves issues or conflicts brought by owners, plans sponsors and beneficiaries

Position Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting, and at least eight (8) years professional level banking or financial experience and/or training
  • Must be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of Trust administration and operations
  • Must be able to demonstrate an experienced understanding of the banking industry
