Pension Analyst / Administrator

Red Bank Pension Services, Inc. is a growing TPA firm providing consulting and administrative services to qualified retirement plan sponsors for over 30 years.  We are seeking a Defined Benefit Specialist to add to our team.  This position is full time with an assigned caseload.  This position will require good client and customer service skills as there will be a significant amount of contact with clients and advisors.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Preparation of annual actuarial valuations of defined benefit and cash balance plans
  • Preparation, as needed, of allocations for defined contribution plans
  • Perform nondiscrimination and top-heavy testing
  • Calculation of retirement benefits and optional forms for benefit distribution packages
  • Preparation of form 5500 and appropriate schedules
  • Draft and prepare AFTAP certifications and participant notices
  • Draft and prepare Annual Funding Notices
  • Preparation of PBGC Annual Premium filings
  • Formulation of new plan design to meet client objectives
  • Preparation of ASC715 (FASB) Pension Expense and Disclosure Reports
  • Process plan terminations both PBGC and non-PBGC covered plans
  • Preparation of plan documents
  • Assist other staff as needed
  • Daily and ongoing communication with plan sponsor and advisors
  • Reconciliation of plan assets
  • Calculate contributions and income for unincorporated businesses

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in mathematics, Actuarial Science or finance
  • 2-3 years post education pension actuarial experience
  • Completion of Enrolled Actuary exams preferred, but not required
  • Moderate to advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Familiarity with cash balance and traditional defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans comparability allocations, DB-DC Combo
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Experience using Relius administration software
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, IRS, DOL and PBGC Laws and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task
  • Experience with non-qualified, 457(b) and 457(f) plans
  • ASPPA designation
