RITA EDUCATION DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Goal: Develop and maintain education and continuing education program for
RITA. Works as needs to develop educational programs for RITA to include the IRA Institute twice a year, the online Fundamental course/test, webinars once per quarter and new programs as needed.
Develops a certification program for Self-Directed
Industry Professionals (SDIP) to include continuing education requirement of 24 hours every 3 years. Sets up and monitors continuing education requirements.
Utilizes online registration system (currently Eventbrite) and contacts students as
needed with course requirements, sends textbooks, tests, answer sheets, grades tests, gets 2 year industry letter and sends certificates as needed.
Continuing education will be available for self-directed industry professionals, attorneys,
accountants, regulators, registered investment advisers, registered representatives, real estate brokers and salespersons and others.
Updates textbooks and slides as needed for the IRA Institute and coordinates with instructors.
Coordinates venues with Executives Director and instructors for the IRA Institute.
Works with hotel coordinator in selecting venues and hotels. Coordinates hotel contract with Executive Director. Works with graphic designer to
develop promotional materials to post online and send to student list and prospects.
Sets up electronic marketing for the Fundamental test, sends responses to students, sends test and answer sheet, grades test, sends test scores, requests 2 year
letter, sends SDIP certificate if requirements met and keeps track of SDIP students for continuing education requirements.
Develops new programs such as Board of Directors training, webinars and online programs to generate new revenues and extend
RITA outreach to professionals. Can also develop educational programs for consumers and Senior Financial Literacy programs.
Attends at least 1 RITA conference per year.
Provides a written monthly report of activities to the
Coordinates with the Public Relations Director, Membership Director, graphic artist, systems facilitator and others as needed.
Skill sets required:
Familiarity with the self-directed retirement
Familiarity with the securities industry
Familiarity with alternative assets
Microsoft Office Suites: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Powerpoint
