Associate DC Consultant

Pavilion Advisory Group Inc., a wholly‐owned subsidiary of Pavilion Financial Corporation, is a full‐service investment consulting and advisory firm, assisting clients with the end‐to‐end management of their investment programs including investment policy development, asset allocation strategy, investment manager structure, selection and monitoring. In addition, Pavilion delivers discretionary implemented consulting for institutional investors and portfolio management for high‐net‐worth investors.

Pavilion is looking for a talented and highly motivated Associate DC Consultant to work with our client service teams supporting the Managing Directors, Senior Consultants, and Consultants in their advisory work, with an emphasis on retirement plans. The successful candidate will report to a Senior DC Consultant and will have increasing client facing responsibilities, be assigned secondary consulting roles on various small/midsized accounts, and be expected to take on increasingly complex client work. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Defined Contribution Consulting

  • Fulfill secondary consultant functions to assigned Defined Contribution (DC) clients, which include:
  • Review and edit of client investment reports
  • Create client deliverables
  • Gather all quarterly materials for clients assigned and review/edit prior to delivering to lead consultant
  • If participating in meetings, take meeting minutes and/or notes as requested by lead consultant
  • Member of the Defined Contribution Practice team, helping to prepare materials for DC initiatives, research and client projects that cross governance, plan design, investments and fee analyses and consulting
  • Actively contribute to integrating DC processes and services across the firm
  • Participate in updating Pavilion’s proprietary DC fee and plan design databases, as well as providing annual investment and administrative fee reviews
  • Attending some client meetings, typically on a quarterly basis
  • Keeping current with Capital Markets and regulations with an emphasis on retirement-related regulations
  • Working with Primary Consultants, as appropriate, to assume greater client responsibilities on select accounts
  • Coordinate efforts among the Client Service team and other relevant departments to gather data in response to client requests
  • Work with Analyst team to ensure all final deliverables are filed within Pavilion’s online storage platform, including supporting material used in their creation


  • Collaborate with DC research to complete and/or customize DC project work related to investment analysis, fee policy analysis, plan design benchmarking and other special projects


  • Participation and support with integration efforts and sharing of resources among all Pavilion business units
  • Travel as required to service clients
  • Ad hoc responsibilities as necessary


  • A relevant university degree in business, economics, or finance with 3-5 years’ relevant work experience
  • Defined Contribution Industry experience, either as a plan sponsor, consultant, record keeper or investment manager

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the regulatory and compliance environment of an investment advisory firm
  • Strong client servicing skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities
  • Ability to deliver a consistently high level of service and performance
  • Able to advance multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal direction and supervision
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to investigate and solve problems with minimal guidance
  • Capable of producing results under tight deadlines
  • Meticulous attention to detail
