TPA Development Manager

Job Description Summary

Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with TPAs. A strong business development focus to grow referral and service networks between TPAs and Financial Services Professionals is core to this position.

*This role requires living within close proximity to a major airport*

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and builds strong relationships with TPAs
  • Assists the Sales Team in building these relationships
  • Assists in growing TPA / Sales Team relationships with Financial Services Professionals with select business partners
  • Proactively works with focus TPAs to jointly grow Advisor referral network
  • Educates TPA firms on Transamerica services and processes
  • Promotes Transamerica's Multiple Employer Plan Programs with and through the TPA Channel
  • Attends major and regional pension industry conferences
  • Assists with TPA Services projects, events and initiatives
  • Provides assistance with strategic development
  • Reports to and work closely with the Vice President of TPA Services

Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of experience working with TPAs or actively working in the corporate retirement market / industry
  • Experience selling or administering Multiple Employer Plans
  • Sales experience
  • TPA experience
  • Understands what is important to a TPA Firm
  • Understands data transfer requirements
  • Experience in a business development / sales related role
  • Ability to sell a concept – working with Transamerica and a TPA
  • Ability to work with financial services professionals
  • General knowledge of retirement plans
  • Public speaking experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced in use of tools such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook and other industry-related resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree
  • Supervisory experience
  • An ASPPA or NIPA designation
  • Selling or supporting payroll integration processes / sales as related to 401(k) administration at the Plan Sponsor and TPA level

  • Ability to brainstorm and provide new ideas for building the opportunity for Transamerica within the TPA Channel
  • Experienced traveler as travel will be extensive
