Spectra Associates, Inc. is a third party administration firm located outside of Philadelphia in business since 1987. We design and administer qualified retirement plans.  We have an opening for a senior plan administrator with some outside sales responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with accountants, attorneys, and financial advisors to earn consistent referrals for new plans
  • Manage valuation / 5500 work flow for all plans
  • Design and maintain plan documents; includes amendments, restatements, notices, SPDs, and SMMs
  • Full annual valuation process:
    • Analyze employee census information
    • Calculate annual contributions, including new comparability
    • Perform all nondiscrimination testing
    • Perform trust accounting/asset reconciliation
    • Process and reconcile participant loans
    • Prepare Forms 5500, 5330, 8955, and 1099R
    • Calculate required minimum distributions

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of experience in plan administration, including familiarity with defined benefit and cash balance plans
  • Expert knowledge of ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations
  • Effective communication skills with clients, accountants, attorneys, and financial advisors; in-person and via telephone and letter/email
  • Ability to work independently; and work successfully with all others in a small office environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office systems; familiarity with Datair a plus
