Regional Sales Director - Mid-Atlantic

Fringe Benefit Group originated the offering of bona fide benefit plans for Davis-Bacon and Service Contract Act contractors. We specialize in the prevailing wage market and have worked with government contractors for almost 35 years. Through The Contractors Plan, we offer retirement plans and major medical, dental, vision and life insurance designed specifically for government contractors who work on Davis-Bacon and Service Contract Act jobs.

The ideal candidate will be a proven Employee Benefit and/or Retirement plan producer with direct sales experience, with wholesaling background as a plus. This job will require the day-to-day drive of direct-sales with the collaborative sales process found in a wholesaling position. Experience and familiarity with current trends in healthcare reform and retirement plan design are crucial to success of this position. Ability to manage multi-state territory in the Mid-Atlantic/ East Coast and drive sales through multiple channels is critical. This would include direct sales, broker and distribution channel development, and marketing campaign development.  

The position requires a results-oriented, decisive leader with proven success in new plan or benefit sales growth, and the proven ability to thrive in a dynamic and fluid environment while remaining pragmatic and focused on day-to-day results.

  • Responsible for direct sales of retirement and employee benefit plans to unique vertical market, selling to small business owners, CEO’s and HR directors
  • Responsible for intermediary sales of retirement and health plans to brokers/agents, financial advisors, and trade associations
  • Manage and grow sales and marketing efforts and revenue growth in territory that includes several Mid-Atlantic states, building relationships with contractors, brokers/agents, trade associations
  • Develop and implement direct marketing and “drip” campaigns into identified prospects in territory using sales database information and integrating with email, telemarketing and other campaign “tools” available
  • Conduct sales seminars with partners into vertical market
  • Existing relationships in Mid-Atlantic broker and financial services community a plus
  • Proximity to major airport a must


  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Five or more years of relevant sales experience and/or industry experience required
  • Successful broker channel and/or business to business sales experience (professional services preferred) including experience selling to executive/senior level employees
  • Ability to learn, understand Fringe Benefit Group’s business and apply our value proposition
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Extensive communications skills (written, verbal and presentation skills)
  • Very strong organization and time management capabilities
  • Ability to engage in client-focused critical thinking
  • Required to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses, as required by Fringe Benefit Group policies and State/local regulations
