The Associate Attorney will be primarily responsible for working with the partners and other associate attorneys on projects related to client matters and/or regulatory requirements; managing sizable projects, such as IRS and DOL audits and compliance
resolutions, preparing plan documents, plan amendments, corporate resolutions and other legal documents as directed by the lead attorney for client work; ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, providing ERISA and other employee benefits legal
advice to clients; assisting in the attention and investigation of all matters assigned. Time management and project management skills are a must. Must be able to conduct legal research in various databases, analyze legal documents and draft
responses. He/She will be responsible for the management of legal records. This position reports to the Managing Partner or Partner.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A J.D degree from an ABA accredited law school. Licensed to
practice law in any state accepted, but Georgia will be preferable.
One to three years plus doing similar work with an employee benefits law firm or corporation. Alternatively, (3) years’ experience as paralegal or equivalent work experience
in a legal related field.
ASPPA, SHRM, NIPA, local ABC or local WEB membership will be viewed very favorably.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels and ability to influence and
achieve successful results. Public speaking skills are a plus.
Excellent organizational skills are a plus.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Computer literate and other relevant technology competencies such as
Internet search and Westlaw and/or Lexis/Nexis for legal research.
Willing to travel due to business necessity.
