Associate Client Manager

Jim Hallinan Pension Consulting, LLC, is a Third Party Administrator (TPA) firm located in West Hartford Connecticut. TPA’s are responsible for all things compliance regarding retirement plans. We are looking for an Associate Client Manager.  The Associate will be responsible for assisting the Client Manager in all aspects of qualified plan administration and recordkeeping for daily and balance forward plans.  This includes preparing participant statements, processing loans, distributions & payroll, preparing annual Form 5500 and performing annual nondiscrimination testing.

  • What we are looking for:

    • Detail oriented, well-organized and ability to prioritize

    • The ability to pick up any request, prioritizing its importance and executing to help the team is important for the firm’s success.

    • While it does not require experience within the retirement planning industry a background in finance and/or accounting would be beneficial.

    • Our team has a wealth of knowledge in the retirement planning industry and will provide extensive training in the technical field of pensions.

    • We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual who works well with others.

    • This is an in-office position. The office is located in West Hartford, CT.

  • Strong written and oral communication

    • The nature of the position requires effective communication with many different parties such as CPA firms, financial advisers, business owners and occasionally participants. The ability to communicate complex topics effectively is crucial whether in person, on the phone or email.

  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications and excellent analytical skills

    • Retirement plan design and compliance is extremely technical and requires a great amount of expertise with financial and economic concepts.

    • Strong analytical skills are beneficial as part of your responsibilities would include preparing the plan’s annual Form 5500. Reconciling a plan’s assets and ensuring it complies with IRS standards with complete accuracy is the most crucial aspect of our job.
