DC Plan Administrator

Pelion Benefits is a corporate retirement plan specialist (TPA).  We create custom Defined Benefit Pension, Profit Sharing, 401(k) and 403(b) plans for C-Corps, S-Corps, LLC’s, LLP’s and Sole Proprietors.  Our market niche is small to medium size privately owned companies.  

We are looking for a Defined Contribution Administrator with 3-5 years of  plan administration experience.    HEADHUNTERS - PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US

JOB TYPE:   Full-time 


  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate work experience
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working with retirement plans
  • Must be knowledgeable of ERISA, IRS and DOL rules & regulations
  • Experience completing all required testing including: ADP/ACP, 402(g) limits, 415 limits, 416(c) Top Heavy, 410(b) Coverage, 414(s), New Comparability Cross Testing
  • Overall technical familiarity with plan rules including contribution limits, benefit restrictions under IRC 436, distributions, loans, hardships, etc.
  • Experience with trust reconciliation and completion of governmental forms (5500SF, EZ) & related schedules, 5330, 8955-SSA)
  • Completion of Annual Valuation Reports
  • Coordinating, Compiling and Analyzing census information
  • Calculating Receivable Contributions
  • Perform cash reconciliation and understand asset transfers in / out for brokerage and bank statement transactions; allocate gains and losses in pooled accounts.
  • Experience working with both calendar and fiscal year end clients


  • Software Skills: ASC, Relius, DGEM, Excel, Google, Word, Adobe, and PensionPro.
  • Knowledge of a retirement plan's administrative cycle, including IRS and DOL filing requirements and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of distributions including minimum distributions, hardship withdrawals, QDROs, loans
  • Strong accounting, multi-tasking, problem solving, and organizational skills

  • Client-first attitude, team player, desire to grow & expand personal knowledge
  • Ability to identify potential issues, pivot as needed, and seek solutions which promote efficiency, transparency, and accuracy
  • Must be able to successfully handle multiple projects and priorities at the same time and communicate with clients
  • Adjust priorities with changes in the annual business cycle of pension administration.
  • Multi-tasking and able to work under tight deadline pressure
  • Have an in-depth understanding of retirement plan rules and regulations.
  • Strong comfort level with technology and learning new programs
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Personal characteristics:, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and an attention to detail
