South Florida retirement plan administration firm celebrating it's 35th Anniversary seeks experienced 401(k) plan administrator. The
administrator must be at the company’s place of business during business hours. Telecommuting is NOT AN OPTION.
Education, Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate would have at least three to five years' experience.
While industry designations are encouraged, they not required. Proficiency in Word and Excel and excellent communication skills are essential. Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred. Familiarity with ASC Compliance software is an asset, however not required.
Maintaining a professional, confidential relationship with the client is crucial, as well as an ability and willingness to teach.
Responsibilities and Functions:
The primary responsibility of the Administrator is the complete,
accurate and timely reports of a caseload of single employer defined contribution plans. This includes data collection, trust accounting and Form 5500 preparation. A reasonable amount of plans will be assigned according to level of experience or company
need. Most plans are on a custodial recordkeeping platform of one of the usual 401(k) providers. General functions will include:Collecting and analyzing client data in order to perform compliance testing, reconciling plan assets
and participant accounts, preparing required government returns and disclosures (if applicable to a particular valuation period) and producing a comprehensive client report. Most plans are on the usual investment platforms, although some recordkeeping is
required. Peripheral functions may include advising the client on compliance issues, consulting relating to plan design issues, assisting with an IRS or DOL audit, performing a due diligence review of prior plan year administration, and the calculation or
approval of loan and distribution amounts for the preparation of related documents.
Monthly functions will include:
Requesting client data according to the client’s valuation period, scheduling required extension form
preparation, calculating contribution quotes as needed and completing all compliance work and plan reports by their respective deadlines. At the direction of the administrator, support staff will assist with clerical duties (loans, distributions, data
requests, follow-ups, extensions, etc.), certain data input tasks and limited assistance with government forms.
Daily functions will include:
Assessing priorities with regard to various compliance, deduction and government
filing deadlines. Processing client requests and especially return of phone calls are expected within a reasonable period of time.Other functions may include occasional support to other administrators to meet overall company deadlines, participation in
company projects and training of assistant administrators.
