Account Executive / Consultant - Retirement Services

Position Objective

Based in one of our primary Pacific  Retirement Services offices, the Account Executive provides strategic and tactical consulting and account management leadership to an assigned book of Retirement and Executive Benefit clients, and builds and maintains strong client and provider relationships. The Account Executive promotes total quality awareness and regulatory compliance through understanding, supporting and delivering best practice consulting and advisory services to Retirement clients.

Essential Duties for Account Executive - Retirement Service

  • Own, manage, and develop assigned client book of $1-2m in revenue
  • Conduct effective client meetings monthly, quarterly, annually or as needed
  • Lead formal presentations to prospects and current clients
    • Investment Reviews
    • Fiduciary Best Practices
    • Plan Design Recommendations
    • Fee Analysis
  • Provide thought leadership regarding strategic planning and consulting
  • Maintain strong client relationships
  • Establish and maintain vendor-partner relationships
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of products available in the market
  • Manage bid solicitation process for clients
  • Manage plan implementation or transition
  • Identify opportunities and gaps in plan design, administration, funding and compliance
  • Provide recommendations based on Benchmarking results
  • Analyze complex data, interpret and communicate findings
  • Negotiate fees with vendors on behalf of client
  • Proactively deliver regulatory and compliance support to clients
  • Provide insight and recommendation on Employee communication campaigns
  • Effectively integrate National Resources into Client Service Team as appropriate
  • Effectivelycommunicate with Producers on prospects and existing clients
  • Initiate involvement of manager and other Lockton resources as needed
  • Assist in development of other associates by providing constructive feedback and engaging in training and development.
  • Listen to clients and colleagues, provide meaningful input, and collaborate to identify problems and solutions
  • Share subject matter expertise in development of other associates
  • Other special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of the retirement industry
  • Substantial experience in marketing and servicing employer sponsored retirement plans
  • Demonstrate ability to instill confidence and comfort with clients so client looks to you and to Lockton as more than just a retirement consultant, but a partner in business
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize heavy workloads and multiple priorities to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or similar software applications
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret financial information and data to facilitate decision making
  • Current securities licenses: 6, 63, 65 or equivalent
  • Demonstrated professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives
  • Personal presence to interface with top management of other businesses, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner
  • Demonstrated understanding of when to proceed alone and when to involve manager, Producer or others
  • Ability and willingness to proactively coach and mentor other Associates, as needed
  • Understanding and demonstrated experience in delivering superior service and relationship management in accordance with Lockton quality procedures and performance standards
  • Ability to provide clear direction and act as leader of account team
  • Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft, and stay for more than one day and night
