Alight Solutions seeks a high-performing attorney looking for an opportunity to join a collaborative and energetic legal department to support a rapidly transforming and
dynamic business. This position is for an attorney with a strong employee benefits / human resources background that includes substantive experience gained either at an in-house position or at a law firm. Our legal team is located at
Alight’s headquarters in Lincolnshire, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago
Serve as a strategic business partner and trusted legal advisor to our senior business leaders, help advance key
business initiatives and provide day-to-day support as an attorney in the Legal Department.
Provide balanced, practical advice to our internal business teams that supports Alight’s desire to design, maintain, and deliver its services to
clients in a manner consistent with its contractual and statutory requirements, and any applicable industry standards.
Interact with clients and their legal counsel to provide perspective on Alight’s administrative approach, help resolve
escalated situations, and mitigate potential service delivery issues.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations, laws, industry trends, and practices that may affect Alight.
Cooperate and assist with other legal
department colleagues, including commercial, privacy, and litigation, on various matters that impact the organization.
Assist in driving continuous improvements, scalability and operational excellence, including development of procedures, tools
and metrics to monitor use and effectiveness of legal services, and reports on such trends.
Undertake other key projects as determined by legal department leadership.
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
Alight’s purpose and values, including high ethical standards, teamwork, client service, work ethic and positive attitude.
At least three years of substantive employee benefits, ERISA (health or retirement plan), or tax experience as a
regulatory attorney in an in-house setting or with a law firm.
Ability to provide good, proactive professional guidance and advice regarding sound business-focused solutions that combine excellent judgment, creativity, risk-taking, and technical
Ability to effectively present and communicate information to senior management and various business colleagues and successfully impact decision-making.
Ability to effectively interact with a variety of external clients
Ability to work in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment with other regulatory and commercial attorneys.
Experience with privacy (e.g., data protection or HIPAA) and payroll laws would be valued
Strong research, analytical and writing skills are required.
Candidate must have Juris Doctor and be admitted to the bar in one state
