Investment Change Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Trading & Reconciliation
REPORTS TO:  Trading & Reconciliation Supervisor


Work directly with strategists and advisors across ERISA and Non-ERISA plans in order to execute investment changes as requested. Responsible for all coordination, facilitation and verification of all investment changes in a daily valuation retirement plan environment.


Responsibilities may include the following:

  • Monitor group inbox and review all investment change requests within strict timeframe to determine appropriate steps that need to be taken for each item.
  • Work with strategists, advisors and internal departments to facilitate and schedule investment changes.
  • Complete fund additions across multiple custodians and accounts and identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Manage scheduling and verification of processing within a database dedicated to investment changes. Responsible for reviewing daily to ensure all scheduled changes and necessary tasks were completed.
  • Coordinate investment change processing within the department and provide all necessary paperwork and documentation. Perform several quality control functions to verify reasonability and accuracy.
  • Verify that all investment change requests are processed completely and accurately and provide proof to clients within strict timeframe.
  • Review accounts during pre-determined time frames to determine if residual processing is needed for any prior investment changes and coordinate within the department accordingly.
  • Provide backup assistance to Trading Associates when needed on executing investment changes on internal recordkeeping system(s) and verifying reasonability and accuracy.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.


  • 2-4 years working with retirement plans or in the financial industry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and simultaneously maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education & experience
