Purpose: This is a cross functional position working with all areas of the benefits team focusing on customer service and data entry. This position explains and interprets company insurance programs to employees and dependents, as well as maintain electronic and hardcopy files.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Manage the central benefits line and benefits team's email box
  • New hire processing including conducting benefits orientation and explain benefits self-enrollment system
  • Assisting employees with mid-year benefit changes due to life events and ensuring benefits changes are entered appropriately in the HRIS
  • Data entry of incentive credits, spousal form submissions, HSA bank numbers, retiree health & welfare elections and other key data elements
  • Activation of company paid benefits at time of hire and termination of benefits at employment separation
  • Coordinate COBRA administration - letters to adult dependants at hire, notification to TPA of COBRA events and activation of coverage after COBRA elections
  • Completion of court inquiry documents and other miscellaneous documents
  • Assist with open enrollment data scrubbing

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires an overall understanding of Health and Welfare Plans and Retirement Plans
  • A successful candidated will be computer savvy with a keen eye for detail
  • The candidate must have excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of various regulations such as ERISA, USERRA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, Section 125 Cafeteria Plan, etc. is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required
  • At least 3 years of benefits experience is required
