Position Summary: Successful candidates will be responsible for prospecting and selling
retirement plans for small and medium-size businesses by developing and expanding Benetech’s established national network of referral sources such as wirehouse and independent financial advisors, CPAs, mutual fund wholesalers, and recordkeeping
wholesalers. While Benetech sales consultants are required to have a solid understanding of 401(k) plans, we are primarily looking for self-motivated sales people who understand how to develop and maintain an advisor referral
Territories: Benetech, a national actuarial consulting and retirement plan administration firm (TPA), is seeking external sales consultants within the following metropolitan areas: Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco/Sacramento,
CA; Seattle, WA; Baltimore, MD/DC/Northern VA; Dallas/Ft Worth, TX.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Benetech sales consultants fulfill an external sales role, and are responsible for finding and closing retirement
plan opportunities within territory.
Identify needs and objectives of prospective clients, present solutions, close sales, and assist in onboarding new clients.
Work closely with mutual fund and recordkeeping platform wholesalers to
develop an advisor referral network.
Maintain close and regular contact with A- and B-level advisor referral sources.
Work closely with broker-dealer retirement plan specialists to develop an advisor referral network within that
Present sales training seminars for financial advisors, information seminars for plan sponsors, and CPA Continuing Education seminars.
A track record of leadership and
excellence in B2B sales, preferably within the retirement plan industry.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize work.
Proven ability to work under pressure of
deadlines and demanding clients, with minimal supervision.
Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate persuasively, both one-on-one and in front of a group.
Good understanding of basic 401(k) rules is
required. Understanding of Defined Benefit/Cash Balance plans is preferred but not required (we will train on DB plans).
Strong interest in increasing your technical understanding of retirement plans.
