Third Party Administrator Team Lead

Retirement Plan Consultants LLC is an all-inclusive consulting firm for 401(k) and 403(b) plans. The right candidate for this position will have prior third party administration experience and meet/exceed team goals, manage a number of client relationships within the retirement business unit, and successfully provide third party administration services to our clientele.

We are located in Norfolk, Nebraska, however; this position is remote with minimal travel for training. We are looking for a candidate with experience working independently and getting the job done!

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide clients guidelines to ensure the plan is meeting all retirement plan qualifications
  • Review co-workers preparation of documents, testing, and annual filings
  • Be technical go-to person for internal staff questions
  • Work with co-workers to complete special projects and improve department quality
  • Client communications
  • Preparation of Client Annual Filings
  • Preparation and review of plan documents and amendments
  • Compliance/Nondiscrimination Testing
  • New Comparability plan contribution calculations
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Identify and respond to clients’ changing needs and industry trends

Qualifications:

  • Education – bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of an associate’s degree required in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience – 2+ years of client/customer service, and 3+ years of experience in the retirement administration industry, preferable in 401(k) and 403(b) administration. Preferred QKA or TGPC designations.
  • Computer Operations – advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Windows.Preferred prior experience with Ftwilliams and/or Relius software
  • Leadership – must possess strong leadership skills with the ability to interact with both internal and external contacts under strict deadlines.
  • Communication Skills – strong analytical and negotiation skills are necessary. The ability to develop a rapport with clients and prospects.
  • Independence – a strategic mindset with good business acumen and strong initiative. A problem solver capable of understanding a client’s needs and offering a solution.
  • Time Management Skills – demonstrated organizational abilities and attention to detail are vital. Able to handle multiple projects with a timely follow up.
