We are looking for an experienced retirement plan consultant to join our team located in Bloomington, Indiana. As a Manager, Benefits Administration, you will have a role in all phases of retirement plan administration for a variety of clients, primarily in the Bloomington, Indiana practice.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Administration of key or large clients; assistance with annual audits.
  • Review compliance and administration work performed by others.
  • Client and advisor relationship development and maintenance.
  • Review and interpret plan documents to ensure compliance with DOL and IRS requirements.
  • Trust accounting and asset reconciliation.
  • Calculate and allocate annual employer contribution and forfeitures; review eligibility and complete vesting determinations.
  • Compliance testing, including ADP/ACP, non-discrimination, coverage and top heavy.
  • Preparation of annual valuation and Form 5500 filing.
  • Assist with plan design and new business development.

 Position Requirements:

  • Good communication skills with clients, contacts and advisors
  • 7+ years’ experience with qualified retirement plan administration, Third Party Administrator preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) credentials through American Society of Pension Professionals of America (ASPPA) preferred.
  • Understanding of plan design and composition of qualified plan documents.
  • Solid understanding of recordkeeping software; Relius experience a plus.
  • Experience with balance forward & daily valuation (Platform) plans.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills; must be a self-starter.
  • Experienced in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Travel to other offices 10-15% of the time for client meetings, training, including some overnights.
  • Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 20 pounds, sit for long periods of time and the use of a desktop computer.
