Retirement Plan Compliance Director

Newport Group

Newport Group is looking for a Retirement Plan Compliance Director in our Chicago Office. The Director will participate in and monitor project milestones and timeline, ensure that questions and issues have been answered, objectives are aligned, and proper documentation is created.  S/he will develop implementation strategies and contingency plans and communicate to all parties involved.  S/he will also evaluate the impact of project requirements on the business and assess the time requirements, user needs, and impact of implementation.

S/he will also be responsible for assisting with training which includes training materials, guidelines, and user defined help and conduct group training sessions and assist end users with system issues, new functionality, products and processes. S/he will provide development and oversight of the Compliance function by leveraging in-depth retirement industry expertise and providing real time support and consultation to the business to ensure our systems, processes and procedures align with regulatory standards and practice. 

S/he will be responsible for keeping company provided services in compliance with IRS and DOL requirements for the establishment, administration and termination of qualified retirement plans, specifically Defined Contribution plans. S/he will translate operational business strategy into workable plans / projects for team execution while setting clear direction, processes, resource allocation and accountabilities. S/he will implement strategies to develop process, procedures and controls to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of operations

 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 -7 years of management experience in retirement plan compliance
  • Strong project management experience
  • Strong analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of retirement plans
  • Effective time management and strong organizational skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with an understanding of the big picture and have the ability to take charge, lead and motivate the behaviors and actions of others
