Benefits Consultant is responsible for complete accountability of client management for an Employer’s Health and Welfare plan. The BC should exhibit strong customer service skills and be a team player. They are responsible for the day to day service
needs of Bouchard Insurance clients including but not limited to: resolution of claim and billing issues, development of long term financial strategies through claims analysis, open enrollment coordination, and wellness initiative oversight. This
individual must have experience in all supporting management roles including marketing, implementation, communication, enrollment, and renewal negotiations. They must be able to organize their time, keep up-to-date with industry changes, and have strong
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service assigned clients and prospective clients.
Negotiate on behalf of clients to achieve goals of best benefits for best rates.
Comprehensive renewal analysis to research alternate options to reduce costs.
Direct and execute implementations, enrollments, and communication processes.
Update and maintain client data in ImageRight and BenefitPoint.
and maintain all client information in a timely manner.
Resolve client problems swiftly, effectively, and courteously.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with carriers
Maintain and adhere to expectations set forth in
scope of services.
Ability to collect, review, and disseminate carrier utilization data in support of client service and profitablility including the identification of performance trends, benchmarking data, and plan design solutions for renewal
years for identified clients.
Coordination of the above mentioned data may also be utilized within Decision Maker Warehouse (DMW) to produce predetermined output. The (SBC) will need to be able to both educate the Producers and Clients on this
output as well as provide strategy and solutions for any identified concerns.
Maintain an expertise level of knowledge on forms and coverage changes through communications and bulletins.
Participate in seminars and classes for skill and
Maintain above agency knowledge of on benefits industry trends, compliance topics, marketplace knowledge, and HCR updates.
Initiate and facilitate on-site client meetings to review and present claims data (monthly,
quarterly, or bi-annually), marketing proposals, pay-or-play calculations, pre-renewal and renewal projections, and Open Enrollment meetings.
Review proposals and make recommendations and suggestions to formalize final proposal.
5500 filing and Plan Document support.
Internal ToolKit and workflow adherence.
Offer strategy and solutions to Clients financial, plan design, RX
Billing audits and resolutions
implement Wellness initiatives established by the Client.
Ongoing and escalated claims support.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Current 2-15 License
College degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong technical insurance knowledge, industry
experience, and full knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting principles.
Experience with large health and benefits clients
A working knowledge of medical underwriting preferred
Advanced skills in internet technology;
Microsoft products including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Strong communication and negotiation skills necessary for clients, carriers, and prospects.
Responsive and self motivated team member who
proactively assists all members of the team.
Leadership and delegation skills
