Job Description Summary
The Retirement Planning Consultant provides dedicated, on-site local support and educational services for a major client (at one or more locations). Responsible for ensuring that the clientsâEUR(tm) overall communication program objectives are met at the site level, including the delivery of quality educational meetings and one-on-one counseling sessions. Acts as a primary relationship management contact with the local Human Resources representative.This is a Part-Time 3 day a week position. Ideal for entry level candidates or candidates that are near the end of their career looking to cut back.

Job Description


  • Develops education plans for each client site.  Conducts annual business planning meetings to understand the clientâEUR(tm)s/siteâEUR(tm)s needs and objectives for the year from an education perspective.  Develops strategies/approaches to meet the unique needs of the client at each site to ensure successful execution.  Meets with client throughout the year to ensure plan(s) stay on track.
  • Manages client relationship at the site/location from an educational perspective.  Builds and fosters positive/productive relationships, with HR, management team and participants.
  • Responsible for group education meetings by delivering workshops on investments and retirement goals.  Conducts one-on-one counseling sessions with Client's employees.
  • Uses extensive knowledge of TransamericaâEUR(tm)s products, services and funds to help participants develop a retirement strategy, select investments and create a retirement portfolio that meets their objectives.
  • Provides participants with insight into the funds offered under each clientâEUR(tm)s plan with an understanding of fund objectives and performance.
  • Identifies asset retention and gathering opportunities and initiates appropriate discussions with participants. 
  • Contributes to the development of customized participant communications for site by providing recommendations to Marketing Consultants and Account Executives.
  • Manages projects designed for the expansion and enhancement of the Retirement Education & Planning Services Organization.
  • Maintains current and accurate records to document progress toward goals.



Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent business experience; FINRA Series 6 or 7 Registered Representative; FINRA Series 63;  CEBS 3 - Retirement Plans: Basic Features in Defined Contribution Approaches and CEBS 7 - Investment Management or CRPC designation (required within first two (2) years of employment); or CFP designation.

Working Conditions

Office environment. Occasional travel required.
