Retirement Specialist

Prestige Employee Administrators

in Melville, NY

Position Description:

Incumbent will manage all aspects of multiple employer retirement savings plan for participating client worksites and worksite employees.  

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clients, attorney and plan administrator to create and maintain Prestige plan documents
  • Review 401K testing with Prestige plan provider as necessary
  • Draft and maintain:    
    • Administrative Documents
    • 401K section of client’s new hire binder for Prestige plan (upon request)
    • 401K section of client’s handbook for Prestige plan (upon request)
  • Facilitate:
    • Answers to questions from co-employees to registered or ERISA qualified responders
    • Plan changes between both the client and Prestige plan administrator
    • The coordination of enrollment meetings between client and Prestige plan administrator
    • The scheduling of on-site and web-based retirement education workshop between client and Prestige plan administrator
    • 401K audits both internally and externally as necessary
    • Plan to plan transfers (Outside Client Plan to Prestige or Prestige to Outside Client Plan)
  • Remittance reports run/uploaded according to Key Events Calendar

 

  • Daily Responsibilities:
    • Run Vendor Enrollment/Contribution Change Reports 
    • Update payroll system with enrollments and contribution changes
    • Run Vendor Pending Distribution Request Reports
    • Approve/Deny Distribution Requests
    • Process employee requests (enrollment/change, incoming rollover, loan, distribution, hardship withdrawals)
  • Monthly Responsibilities:
    • Run New Hire Reports
    • Accounting reconciliation of all 401K activity (contributions, loans, disbursements, etc.)
  • Quarterly Responsibilities:
    • Vendor Contribution Verification Reports
    • Census Reports (upon request)
  • Annual Responsibilities:
    • Compliance
    • 50+ Age Report
    • Census Reports (upon request)

 

Experience: Strong knowledge of 401K plans and administration.  Background in customer service a plus. Bachelor’s degree preferred.  Attainment of a securities license is not required but is strongly encouraged.

  • Detail oriented with ability to multi-task
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal communication skills and phone presence
  • Strong written communications skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Microsoft Office and internet skills
  • Moderately proficient in ERISA regulations
  • Securities licensed (recommended but not required)
