Our client is a national, non-profit organization located in the Metro DC area that is looking for a sharp, high-energy Writer to join its professional team.
This position writes and edits articles for the organization’s websites,
e-newsletters, magazines and other media. The Writer also reports on industry events.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Writes articles for websites, e-newsletters and magazines;
Reports on industry events, webcasts
and white papers.
Assembles and distributes e-newsletters;
Edits content for e-newsletters, magazines, websites and other media; and
Repurposes existing content for the web and posts website
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, finance or a related field;
3+ years of experience in a similar role. Non-profit organization experience is a plus;
Employer sponsored retirement plan industry experience and knowledge is required. Experience with issues pertinent to retirement plan advisors a plus;
In-depth knowledge of newswriting, writing for the web, magazine feature writing, editing,
and managing editorial workflow of published print and web products;
Superior interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
Ability to analyze problems, develop a path toward problem solving, and manage the process to
Capacity to make decisions and communicate those decisions with tact and professionalism;
Strong multi-tasking skills with a comfort in maintaining multiple, often conflicting, priorities;
management, planning and organization skills; and
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience in Association Management Systems.
