Responsible for independently reviewing and analyzing takeover plans as assigned and for preparation
and management of plan documents and funding documents for assigned caseload. This includes verifying that all accrued benefits are protected, system issues are identified, plan document are congruent with system set-up and appropriate parties are updated
during the entire process. Responsible for preparation of plan documents, amendments and funding documents for 401(a), 401(k), 403(b), 457 and NQDC plans, and related consulting on those documents.
Draft plans, amendments, funding documents, summary plan descriptions and plan filing packages for all takeover plans as assigned. Work with clients' counsel as necessary
amendments, funding documents and other related documents for assigned cases.
Consult with necessary parties on plan design changes to accommodate client's goals and objectives.
Consult with outside council or senior management on
requested contract, service agreement changes.
Review, analyze and consult on plan mergers and spin-offs to ensure that accrued benefits are protected and identify any potential system conflicts.
Provide technical expertise on plan and
regulatory issues; independently handle more complex plan issues.
Develop plan filing packages for IRS determination letters.
Interpret new regulations and draft appropriate language.
Ensure system is consistent with technical
Interact with regulatory agencies such as the IRS.
May provide training or guidance to junior staff members.
Projects as assigned
3+ years pension or plan experience
preferred or will accept bachelor's degree in lieu of experience preferably in math or business.
Advanced knowledge of plan documents and investment products preferred.
Excellent attention to detail.
Superior problem solving
skills to analyze case situation and formulate appropriate action plans.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to respond to inquiries by clients and internal Transamerica representatives.
