Job Description Summary

Responsible for increasing sales of Monumental Life final expense and affiliate products, programs and services to the Independent Marketing Organization distribution system in a defined geographical area (territory). Act as a liaison between the Marketing Organization, marketing staff, agents, and home office staff.

Regional Vice President - Southern CA

This position will cover a large territory. The territory covers the LA Area and South of that to San Diego. Hawaii is also a small part of the territory.


  • Works with agents daily to plan, direct and monitor the activities of a sales team within an assigned region to achieve established quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Coordinates and hosts meetings and weekly conference calls.
  • Directs the sales force recruitment and selection process (to contract agents).
  • Maintains the region's budget, adhering to annual expense guidelines. Budget is typically $2M and covers 100+ agents.
  • Builds relationships with the Home Office and operations departments.


  • Life insurance license and education.
  • Sales/marketing background.
  • Five years management experience in the insurance industry.
  • Proven experience with budget and expense management.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Webinar meeting experience.
  • Ethical business practices.
  • Proficient MS Office software skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or 8 years of progressively more responsible experience in the Life Insurance industry.
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience.
  • Minimum 5 years management experience.
  • Experience with multi-million dollar ($1M+) expense and budget management.

Working Conditions

  • Travel 50% of the time.
  • Travel between company offices several times each year.
