Health and Welfare Associate - Mid-Level to Senior

Trucker Huss, one of the largest firms focused exclusively on employee benefits law with offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Portland seeks an associate with three to eight years of experience with health and welfare employee benefit plans. Our firm has a collaborative approach and offers a flexible hybrid work schedule and reasonable billable hour expectations. We also provide associates with direct client contact and a strong learning environment.

The ideal candidate should have substantive knowledge and understanding of the laws governing health and welfare plans, including ERISA, Internal Revenue Code (including Section 125 cafeteria plans), Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, the Consolidated Appropriation Act (“CAA”) and COBRA.  Candidates should also have experience with drafting plan documents, summary plan descriptions and other plan communications and with negotiating service provider agreements. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with solid work experience who is interested in performing sophisticated and cutting edge work in the employee benefits field. The firm offers a competitive salary and benefits package, a very collegial work environment, and an attractive work/life balance.  

Salary range: $200,000 to $300,000. The salary range does not guarantee, obligate, nor set expectations of an applicant’s salary in the event of hire. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications and skill set.
